Mary Hudson has her own blog...

Well Mary Hudson got tired of us talking about her and decided that it was time for her to speak what is on her mind. You can find her blog here:

http://mary-hudson.blogspot.com/

Please check this blog and the new blog - we still have things to say - until she figures out how to silence us - which will be a while.

Thanks for checking on us!

Great day!

We have started out on the right path today. Mary Hudson slept from 10:30 last night until 4:30 this morning. What a wonderful night!

More pics have been added since the last post. http://public.fotki.com/bwingate/2008/may/

A good week.

Well all in all this week has been pretty good. It started with a visit from my Aunt Carol from Houston. Here are the pics.

The nights have been good, MH is averaging 3 1/2 hours between feedings which allos for Martha and I some good rest. Last night she slept from 10:30 to 2:30 and then until about 6. It is amazing how much a 4 hour stretch of sleep can do for you.

We are looking forward to a visit from several friends from Atlanta tomorrow. Mary Hudson does not know it yet but Drew (a visitor tomorrow) may be her future husband. I hope she makes a good impression :)

Have a great weekend!

First days...

I am very thankful to have a husband who enjoys posting on this blog...if it were left to me, you'd never have any updates! :) As Bill has said, we're doing well. We have had a busy last few weeks, but MH seems to be adjusting to the outside world fairly well. Probably a little better than Mommy and Daddy are adjusting! We're doing what we can...

She has had many family and friends come to visit and she loves it. Actually, she snoozes through most visits, but we occasionally get an open eye here and there. Of course, at night, both eyes seem to magically pop open. (If you are interested in seeing this first hand, just let us know...we'd be happy to have you come and visit us during this time!)

Thankfully we have a very healthy and content little girl. My mom had to remind me today that it is okay for her to cry a little bit. Bill and I were laughing the other day, saying that whatever laid back tendencies we have are all in her. (Okay, maybe the laid-back comes more from Bill than me!) She is hanging out in her swing, fighting going to sleep, watching to see if her bear-friend on the mobile will move. Hiccups are about to set in, signalling that it's about time for night-night.

Have a good evening!

Hudson's Visit

Mary Hudson is doing quite well. She was up to 7lbs 4 ounces as of last Friday which is well above her birth weight.

Last week Mary Hudson's uncle Hudson came to see her all the way from the great state of Hawaii. It was a great (very quick) visit with Hudson.

Please note that more pictures have been added but they are in the May 2008 folder and future pictures will be sorter by month.

Have a great week!

Happy Cinco de Mayo

Well today was the day that Mary Hudson was supposed to arrive. We are very happy that she decided to join our family a little early.

Over the past week she has grown and starting to have a routine (we think). We are very blessed to have a happy little girl who has a fondness of eating in the middle of the night. We are hoping that this changes in the coming days to late evening rather than 2 - 4am.

As always, that for checking in on us and have a great week!

Weekend update

All is well here. Mary Hudson is doing well and has had 3 good nights and she slept in her crib all 3 nights. She is a joy! She is also beautiful (we are biased)

Many have asked how Henry is adjusting to his sister. What do you think?

He does not seem to be bothered by much.

Once again thanks for checking on us.
Coming soon Mary Hudson will have her on blog and will be telling us about life...

We are off to the pediatrician later this morning, should be a fun outing - I hope.

Thanks for checking on us.

Mary Hudson

Mary Hudson is here! She arrived at 12:35pm today. 6lbs 11 ounces, 19 1/4" long.

A few pictures have been posted - http://public.fotki.com/bwingate/mary-hudson/

It's WB day

Good Sunday Morning to you!

It is a little after 3am and I am sitting here listening to what sounds like a galloping horse running through a large pasture. Actually it is WB heartbeat on a fetal monitor. We are at the hospital and Martha has been experiencing contractions for 12 hours or so.

We arrived at the hospital around 6:45 last night and discovered that Martha's blood pressure was elevated (until now it has always been low). They evaulated things and told us that we were staying overnight to be monitored. At about 10pm it was decided that things were progressing well and WB would make its debut today.

We both have been trying to sleep but it has not been easy (very little sleep for either one of us). The couch and chair that is available to me are both less that desireable. I can feel a major crash coming on later tonight (wow that is a long time from now). I am very hopeful that coffee, excitement and adrenaline will be enough to get through the day. We are being told that WB may be here by noon. Please note that this is subject to change without notice.

All in all we are doing well and look forward to what the day brings. Thanks for checking in and we will post details soon (maybe even a picture).

Blessings,
Bill, Martha and the galloping horse

TGIF

Hi there!

I hope you all survived tax day! We are still waiting on WB to come and play. All is well and we are moving in the right direction. Martha is feeling pretty good (sleeping - not so well) and her swelling seems to have gotten a little better. She is not going in to work quite as much which may be the reason the swelling is a little better.

Thanks for checking on us and have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Tuesday!

37.3 - 37 weeks and 3 days.

Well all things are quiet here and we are still just waiting. Martha is doing well but becoming more and more ready to move to the next phase. We both are for that matter.

We have had a little cold spell here in Birmingham. It is close to 40 degrees outside. Martha is loving the cooler temps as I am not a fan (at all). We are told is will be in the 80s later this week. Welcome to Birmingham weather!

Just wanted to say hi. I will do my best to keep things updated here as the days progress.

Blessings,

37.0

Hi there. I did not realize that it had been almost a full month since a post with info (March 16). We are doing well, just waiting for WB to arrive. My Aunt came to town last weekend and had a little shower for us in which my mom's friends were invited. It was a great time and we got some more great things.

The pictures that are here are the final ones of the nursery. The chandelier was installed recently and the lamp was also added. For the most part the nursery is complete (just need WB now).

We are 3 weeks from our due date but we both have a feeling it will be sooner than that. Martha is beginning to become uncomfortable and is ready!

Thank you for checking on us and we will post as things happen.

Blessings,

Happy Birthday Drew!!

Well we almost missed Drew's 1st Birthday. We did not get to call and sing to him (lucky him and his parents, well his mommy may not have cared after drinking that margarita) tonight but want to give him a shout out! He is a cleaver little guy. Stop by and pay him a visit.

Drew's Blog

Be sure to tell him that WB sent you.

People, people everywhere

Good morning!

As I type I am sitting next to a 40 foot tall fire hydrant sipping on a less than mediocre cup of coffee. Welcome to Disney's All-Star Movies Resort. Yes I am back.

This week I am in Disney and Martha is at home (she is 33 weeks today). I am here with my niece and nephew and their parents. So far the trip has been great. It is fun to see it through the eyes of a first timer.

All is well at home and we (more like Martha since she is there) are getting settled. Thanks for checking in on us. Until next time, have a magical day!

Showertime!

Well our house has been blessed my so many that love us. Yesterday we received so many things that will only enhance our lives and that of WB. Enjoy the photos:

Nursery Transformation - Complete

Well the nursery is complete. We as complete as it can be since it will always be a work in progress.

Everything is going well here. Martha has started seeing the Dr. every 2 weeks and things are fine.

We want to send our love to our friends Lance and Maggie as they should be the proud parents of a little girl by the end of the day. Hang in there Maggie!

While we are passing the love out check out or friend Drew's blog. To be a little over 10 months old the little guy has a way with words (and girls too). Check it out!

Blessings to you all!

Happy Birthday!

We are still here. I was thinking it had been a week since we posted but it turns out it has been two weeks. Oops!

Well all is good here. According to the Dr. we will be 30 weeks along later this week. By our measures we are at 29.1 today. So who knows.

Today is Martha's birthday so Happy Birthday!!! We did go out this weekend to celebrate valentines day and her birthday.

The nursery is almost complete...the rug has arrived and the pictures should be back from the frame shop this week. As soon as everything is done we will post some new pics.

Have a great week!!

Long time...

I'm still here. Bill has been very sweet about posting...and gently reminding me that I need to post something. Things are pretty quiet here. Feeling good...we are now in the third trimester and are thankful that things continue to go well (despite my neurotic worrying tendencies). Did you know that you can google a symptom and all of the possible things it could be will pop up? It has the potential to drive you nuts! My analytical/research brain thinks that is really cool; the side of my brain that feeds on knowing all of the possiblilities really needs to relax! As you might imagine, Bill loves those days... :)

Seriously though, the baby seems to be doing very well. My doctor's appointment was today and all was well. As you have seen, we are making progress on the nursery transformation (thanks to Robert and Elizabeth for painting...I got the best deal of hanging out with Graham for the afternoon. Bill made some yummy gumbo.) So, it's been a little while since I've said hello, but we're all well. Hope you are too.

Nursery Transformation - Part 4

Here is the new furniture. Everything is here except the rug which should arrive soon. Once that arrives the nursery will be complete other than hanging the art (which needs to be framed).

We both agree it is very nice to have things set up and be able to see what you have paid for.

Once it is complete we will post some more pics!

Have a great week.

Nursery Transformation - Part 3

Well here are the pictures of the nursery before the new furniture arrived.

The furniture arrived on Friday eve was not put together properly. Well after the store owner dropped by we had fully functioning furniture.

We are back...

Well the trip to Disney was great. A little tiring for everyone involved but that is expected at Disney. WB made the trip very well and was excited to be there. I think WB is like me and just likes being there in general.

Our friends that made the trip with us had a great time but also were tired.

Attached is a picture of me hanging with the Mouse.

More later.

Calm before the storm

We are still in Orlando and it is in the mid 70s today. At home it is in the 30s.

Our friends left yesterday and Marth and I stayed for 2 extra nights. This may be Marth's last trip before WB arrives (there is a possibility of going to New Orleans in February).

Today we rode Soarin at EPCOT which is Marth's favorite and spent time at Stormalong Bay at Disney's Beach Club Villas. Stormalong Bay is a wonderful sand bottom pool and lazy river. It was amazing and relaxing. We are hoping to bring WB here in December for our annual December trip. Want to join us?

Tonight we are eating dinner at California Grill atop the Contemporary Resort with one of my (Bill's Orlando based business partners) business partners. We should be able to watch Wishes (the nightly fireworks spectacular of the Magic Kingdom) from atop the Contemporary.

We head home tomorrow with more memories from the Happiest place on Earth and the place "Where Dreams Come True". We are looking forward to making new memories with WB very soon!

Have a great week!

PS - I just watched the sun set over a beautiful pool with a beer in hand. Life is good!

Disney!

We'll I have not done so well in posting since we got here. Oh well.

Martha arrived on Friday about 11pm after her flight was canceled due to a bent antenna. She did make it on Friday just 13 hours late.

All is well here, WB likes Disney especially the excitement before heading out to a park (ie 4:30 am dancing). Tonight we are at EPCOT and WB has experienced Mexico, Morocco, France and the UK. WB travels fast! WB's daddy like to sample various libations from each country but we all knew that!

Tomorrow WB will get to see Wishes at the Magic Kingdom from atop the Contempory Resort, what a treat.

Until next time...have a magical day!

WB travels again!

Well we are back at Disney, yes again.
Last summer before we knew we were expecting and before we switched doctors we planned 2 trips to Walt Disney World. This trip is with Bill's cousin and his family (including a 2 and 4 year old). The second trip is with Martha's sister and her family (our niece and nephew). That trip is in the spring and Marth will not make that event.

Today all of us (Martha arrives tomorrow) are flying to Orlando as I type this. This after soon we will explore the Asian mountians and African safaris at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Off to see Mickey...will post throughout the trip.

Nursery Transformation - Part 2

Well the nursery has been painted. As you can see from the picture it is yellow and needs a little work still. We are hoping the furniture will be in later this month.

Have a great week!

Nursery Transformation - Part 1

As I promised here is the before picture of the former Guest Bedroom that will be WB's room very soon. The love seat will stay in the room as will all of WB's friends on the couch. The room is taped and ready to be painted, which will happen this weekend. Enjoy...

Moving right along...

We are still here!

Things are progressing well. Once again we had a great doctors appointment this week and WB is just fine. The nursery will be painted in the upcoming days and I promise to post pictures of the before and after. All the furniture, art and rug have been ordered for the nursery and we hope that it will be here by the end of January or first part of February.

We are headed back to Disney next week for 6 days which will be a nice retreat. It will be Martha's last trip to WDW before WB arrives. I will be back in March, I feel sure stories will come from this trip for sure.

Thank you for checking in on us and we hope you have a wonderful week!
