Sorry for the delay in getting a new post posted. Well today we are at 9.0.
Earlier this week I had the privilege of attending a funeral for a 8 year old that died of cancer. It is truly tragic that his life was so short but he was able to accomplish so much in such a short period of time. I say that it was privilege because Andrew touched so many in his short life. Martha and I did not know Andrew and his family all that well but Martha did teach Andrew in Sunday School when he was three and we were in Sunday School with is parents.
During his Celebration of Life we were reminded of the vows that the congregation took, as they do in each baptism in our Church, and how they made it possible for someone of this young age be able to face the end of his life so strongly. The vow the congregation takes is:
“With God’s help we will so order our lives after the example of Christ, that this child, surrounded by steadfast love, may be established in the faith, and confirmed and strengthened in the way that leads to life eternal.
It was truly amazing!
As we prepare for this new addition to our family in the Spring there are many things for which we are excited about. For me one of the things I am most excited about is our child being baptized in our Church with the congregation taking the same vow as above. As a parent to be it takes some of the neverousness away. Our Church holds a great deal of family history and we look forward to adding to it.
Once again, thank you Andrew.

WB's first gift!
Hello!
I've really only posted one thing, so thought it might be time! :) WB is currently not a fan of bananas, oatmeal, and CHOCOLATE...and those little marshmellow pumpkins thingys. I'm sure that his or her tastes will become undiscriminating very soon.
One funny story...Southwest ticket agent almost made me cry today (in a good way!) I had to leave this morning on a flight to Tampa and hadn't quite gotten over the queasy icky feeling that seems to hang around most of the day AND I couldn't check in online so it was going to be a later boarding call. I asked if it might be possible to preboard and she said something like, "Oh honey! While you're expecting, you can always preboard!". Very sweet...kudos to Southwest (and a hint for others who will be traveling with pregnant women or small children!)
Have a good day! Love, Martha

Andrew, Thank you!
Andrew's life was shorter than it should have been but it showed us how to live with courage. His days were not always the best but he tried to share his humor with all.
Godspeed Andrew!

Welcome!
Welcome! It is truly amazing that we are to this point. It has taken quite some tome to get here.
In our minds we wanted to start a family about 2 years ago (summer 2005 to be exact). Like many times, our timing did not coordinate with God's timing which has led us to today. Over the past 2 years both Martha and I have grown as people and have learned not to take so many things for granted.
Over the past 2 years we have learned of many people who have struggled with starting a family or even growing a family. It seems as if there are stories around each and every corner, stories that many people choose not to share. Like those we struggled with the notion to share or not to share of our infertility struggles. For the most part we only shared what we were going through with family and close friends. Why we chose this we really do not know.
2 years later we are finally expecting!!!! We found out on August 24, 2007 that the most recent treatment worked which meant Martha was pregnant. This past Monday (September 17, 2007) we were able to see the baby's heartbeat (only 1 baby, could have been more) and were released from the fertility Dr. and referred to an 'normal' OB.
Using this blog we hope to share with you what is going on with us as we get ready for this wonderful addition. Over the next few months we will be traveling for work and pleasure and spending a great deal of time preparing our home for a little one. Over time you will see posts about all sorts of things from both Martha and I.
Martha and I are both looking forward to this new addition. The real question is how much is Henry (the dog) looking forward to this new thing....
